This is perplexing me to ... peace*. What? An 18piece ensemble - using e.g. sitar, dulcitone, bassoon, kendang, erhu besides "normal" winds, strings, keys & percs - plays something between ±modern but un-bulky melodic chamber and multi-ethno-/world-music. First, compositions seem very easy to "digest". Then, I (you?) get perplexed by their shrewdly balanced complexities, bringing me (you?) balmy & *peaceful exitement; reliably every time I (you?) listen. Thank you, Charlie Cawood!

More or less I should text a praise quite similar to that for 'The Divine Abstract’. Well, here no multi-ethno insruments are listed; with exception of bodhran. But this album is as colorful as its precursor and i.m.o. reveals even more shrewdly balanced complexities, which again lead to feel peacefully perplexed or exited or (please don't laugh) "healed"; while & after listening. Fans of e.g. Oregon, M. Oldfield, yMusic or Bang on a Can's melodic works should check Charlie Cawoods marvels.

This is a very cool album thats been in my wish list for quite a while. Part Zappa, part Canterbury and a dash of Adrian Belew. Here’s a word thats used too often these days but ‘Quirky’ genuinely describes this funky bunch of art rock fun. Glad to finally have this and hope for more!
